In 1968 Miz t. didn't go on blind dates and neither did I. A matchmaking mutual friend tricked us into meeting. In less than a year we were married. And still are.

and passed out on her living room floor. I'm pretty sure that just impressed the dog-doo out of her. I met her and our mutual girlfriend and her husband at a neighborhood bar. I don't think we (at least I) ever got around to eating. I was still in my Bulletproof/Martini phase back then.
What impressed me about her is that 1. She wasn't a games player, unlike every other girl/woman I had dated. 2. She never mentioned my spending the night on her floor. 3. She made breakfast the next morning. 4. She wasn't a doormat, by any stretch, but she NEVER gave me any needless crap.
If that's not a winning combination, I don't know what one is.

Perhaps a little more than we needed to know, but I hope you're still happy together.

5. The perfect date (from a male perspective) |
|
Edited on Thu Jul-08-04 03:52 PM by underpants
With my now wife (and yes I did date before her).
Just finished my last college exam and she took me out to dinner and PAID. Then we went back to her place........
After that we were smoking cigarettes I started acting like I wasn't feeling so good. She said I should stay and let her take care of me, no I better get home in case it gets worse.
On the way home I called up my best bud and told him to meet me at my apartment, picked up a 12-pack, and got home just as the SEC Championship game started.
How's THAT for trifecta?

7. Have you fessed up on that one? |
|
What was her reaction? Why didn't you just tell her the truth?
If if was me, I would have let you go, especially if you let me know beforehand so I didn't get any ideas for dessert in my head, or I would have watched it with you and your friend.

Before we were married.
Did I mention the people playing football RIGHT outside her apartment window?
I told her and she was cool with it........the way I told her.

6. Well, there was this girl I met on Yahoo chat. |
|
Gosh, must have been about three years ago. She seemed mature, wasn't married, and wasn't a man, so everything seemed okay. She invited me to see a movie with her, and naturally I said yes, because it's not often I get asked out. Of course, I had my fears meeting someone online. Turns out that was all for nothing. She was cute, very nice, and I was instantly comfortable with her. The date was great; we ate dinner at her house and then went to the drive-in. It was a fun evening....
Last September, we got married. I really didn't think I'd ever find my soul mate online, but stranger things have been known to happen.
I'm so freakin' sappy :loveya:

and admitted I was gay and she said "well, duuuuh - you were sleeping with my boyfriend most of last week".
We got married six months later.

13. I met Mrs. DB on her birthday, 1972 |
|
She was drunk and I was hanging out of my dorm window in my underwear.
She gave me her room number about 50 times, and we agreed to meet when Spring Semester started (I met her on the last day of class before break, and I was going home to CT).
When I got back, I called her up, went to her room, and we went out. After about an hour, she turned to me and said "who the hell are you?"
We've been together ever since, and married 29 years.

I met my husband at my best friends house and i disliked him on the spot. A few days we saw each other again at a gas station of all places and he asked me out, i thought...what the hell? Why not? So he picked me up and met my Dad, we went out to a really nice place for dinner and he was a perfect gentleman. That was it, we started dating and 5 years later we got married.

I had some AMAZING first dates that didn't culminate in marriage. But we're talking more...um...physical stuff now.

Nothing wrong in pointing out the injustice of it. BUT, where's your great date story?
