When I don't do my daily ten miles - I feel like absolute crap! Any
other exercise junkies out there who go through withdrawal on rainy days, etc. when you can't get out there on the trail? It sucks!!! I'm climbing the walls, emotionally.

1. Yeah... but I do most of my working out indoors...
I gave up the outdoors... Here in Florida, too damn hot... and I end up breaking into some freakish heat rash if I go running outside. I rely on my treadmill and stationary bike for the most part.

3. Not withdrawal, but I notice the absence...
...and I hate running.

"Love - Hate. Hate - Love. Just like for Mamma, no?"
"But I didn't hate my mother; it was an accident."

4. I have a daughter just like you and I don't get it!!!
Therefore no advice.

She runs and runs and runs and I am amazed.

I thought having three kids would slow her down, but nooooooooo !

9. Well, it IS kind of crazy but I'm driven to do it as I think it is good
for me, emotionally and physically, and it feels so wonderful after I finish when those wonderful endorphins are flooding my system.
Also, on the way home I am so proud of myself that I'm on cloud 9 for the rest of the day. Sleep much sounder, too.
Only downside is antsy-ness on "no run" days, black toenails, and occasional knee problems.

14. We're in Massachusetts and when it's too icy my daughter swims at the
local Y----God knows how many laps but it's her alternative to running.

5. What happens ...
... if you go out in the rain? Do you melt?
:-)

(Just kidding! I know it's bad for the running shoes and all. But perhaps you could put on a really old pair and still go outside? I hate to be cooped up inside, too, and that's what I do.)

8. But you're right actually...
When I lived in upstate NY, I used to run outside in the dead middle of winter... my ski mask would be frozen solid by the time I got home, and I had gortex running shoes. Where there's a will, there's a way.

32. Now, that's just insane.
Although now that I think about it, I can't talk. I've gone running when the heat index was well over a hundred, and 90% humidity. Running can be damned addictive.

I don't run as much anymore post-babies. I just don't have the time, and I hate those jogging strollers. I hit the treadmill sometimes when the kiddos are napping, but it just isn't the same.

12. I definitely run in the rain - its great to do so - no lightning, though!
That could be bad and its the only thing that will make me stop, turn around and go home. Today my running buddy wanted to take a day off and I didn't want him to feel bad by going out by myself. His feet are hurtin' today.

But I had the blahs this a.m. and blew it off.
Now I've still got the blahs AND I feel guilty.

7. I've been going through withdrawal for close to a year now
Some days it bothers me more than others. For me, it was a great outlet for stress and I haven't found a comparable substitute so far. I'd like to think that after my knee surgery I'll be able to get back into it, but not getting my hopes up TOO much. :hi:

it's much easier on the knees than jogging. You might also consider swimming. ;)

19. For me it's disc golf
Gotta have my daily fix. Weekends are for caving and hiking. I also golf in the rain, provided there's no lightning.

Just bought a portable disc golf target today. Now if there's a bad storm, I can practice my putt in my girlfriend's living room!

I only do three days a week, 25-50 miles. So 7-8-10 or 13-17-20.

29. Not quite as ambitious as you
But I do feel bad if I don't get to the gym several times a week. I have really gotten into lifting (watch out guys, Ramsey is getting buff!). I should do more cardio, but the weights just lure me in every time.

Hell, I should be there right now, but the luxury of getting home early for a change was too irresistible today!

30. Yeow!! Ten miles per day has got to be a lot!
I barely get two when all is said and done...

Apart from pacing or popping pills (which I wouldn't recommend doing), I don't know what to suggest.
