The ever-popular tell me/ show me your desktop wallpaper thread

I'm in a situation, 'cause mine is unshrinkable, so I can't show it unless there are over 20 responses. (This is so people clicking on the thread don't necessarily have to wait for a 400K picture to download.) It's a picture of the Chrysler Building from Allen Street at the eastern end of Chinatown and is unshrinkable because the building is quite distant and small but wonderfully framed by leafy tree boughs. Shot from the upper deck of a Gray Line bus, a fact I'm only a little embarrassed about, on the 4th of July.

1. This is mine, I shrunk it down so it will load fast.

It's a picture I took of the Dar-al-Islam mosque in Abiquiu, New Mexico, right down the street from my casita.

The background is of Sedona, AZ. I went there a few months ago.

With the desktop itself, I try to keep it uncluttered by using desktop folders.

As for posting a desktop pic, you can use IrfanView (a freeware program) to reduce the size and resolution easily.

then open MS Paint and paste the image. Save it as a .jpg file. Then you'll need to host it somewhere, www.imageshack.us, for example.

And I'm borrowing my husband's computer, so I can't show you. It was a picture of my 3 year old. I've posted it in the lounge before; it's the incredibly cute one where he's wearing the Hello Kitty party hat on his head. They've erased my hard drive so I'll have to find the picture again and redo the whole thing when I get my computer back.

....Amberley is my first name...I'd believed all m'life that my Mom had been original in addin' the 'ley' after Amber...she thought so too untill they gave me this 'puter and I Googled my name and found out m'name was centuries old and quite well known after all...another irony was she'd named me Amberley after readin' the novel 'Forever Amber' which took place in the 1600's in ENGLAND no less and added the 'ley' because she didn't think just Amber would sound right with m'last name!! :D

So I have a Cylon desktop theme, with lots of annyoing wav files to drive my roomies batty!

On Edit: Oh and my actual wallpaper is a picture of 3 cylon warriors (old school) walking down a hallway, that whoever made the Theme apparently made themselves with some sort of Paint-type app.
