I'm a daddy.

My wife and I had our first child, a little girl, this morning at 8:31 AM. She weighs in at 8 pounds 14 ounces, is 21 inches long, and is, BY GOD, the cutest baby on the planet. She was delivered by c-section. Both mother and baby are in good health.

Thanks to all of you who sent well-wishes. Time to go to bed.

Hey, if your wife is breastfeeding, you should be sleeping just fine! Just kidding. We know better than that.

If she needs any help, be sure to check your discharge papers from the hospital. There should be a number on it to call for breastfeeding help, either La Leche League or a professional lactation consultant. "I can't help you if you don't let me knw there is a problem" is what I tell new moms.
