who else is sick of OCC/Iron Crosses? |
|
I get physically ill whenever I see any Orange County Choppers paraphernalia, or when I see an Iron Cross on anything anymore, especially when it's 'badass' and emblazoned with the American flag or a Bible passage.
However, it seems like a good percentage of males aged 16-30 have at least one piece of clothing with one or both, and EVERY man between the ages of 30 and 45 who wants to still look cool has one piece of clothing with one or both, but typically that being a bandana (to cover up the spreading bald spot).

the few things i had with iron crosses. its completely meaningless now.
but then i enjoy going incognito, snatching up cool old chopper parts for cheap while the iron cross shirt wearing masses swarm around the junk booths at the swap meets.
you might also be amused to know, i had the pleasure a few weeks ago, to be standing on the outside of a hairpin turn high up on pikes peak when usta-be-a-bike-builder-sorta, jesse james attempted to set the record slow time for the pikes peak hill climb...where i was there were only a few people, and he was going slow for the switchback, so i'm sure he caught a good glimpse of my one finger salute!

Independent was a great skate label 16 years ago.
As far as people complaining about the use of symbols... well... I'll see your iron Cross and raise you the genocide of Caanan under the Star of David. Symbols have histories, usually ugly, if they're around long enough. That's not a reason to hate the symbol, it's a reason to hate the use of that symbol to perpetuate more hate and violence.

7. Independent Trucks (for skateboards, that is) |
|
I don't have them, but they use the Iron Cross logo, have for years.
The whole Chopper thing will die along with Ashton Kutcher, Jennifer Lopez, Hillary Duff and other over-exposed, run-in-the-ground pop culture phenoms.
