Seriously, responding to your question made me realize how irrelevant highschool was in the big picture.
It's really irrelevant! It can get you into good schools and such, but damn, those "good" schools are just like any other schools, they all consist of drunken pre-21 year olds getting smashed out of their minds. Of course there's an exception, but they are just that, a beautiful exception.

Yes, it's organizational.
But it's not bullshit. This is the kind of crap you will have to suffer the rest of your life.
The popular kids in school will often become the popular kids at work. The industrious kids in school will become the industrious kids at work.
What, do you really think that a nation's leaders are the most intelligent, aware, and educated people a nation has?
High school is all about learning how to navigate social structures. Now go to college, learn something, and become a policy adviser to a more popular talking head who needs his opinion fed through the writer kids, the diplomatic kids, and the advertising kids, before he finally (and repeatedly) spits out his highly tuned rhetoric.
Policy advisers and other thinkers are where the real politics happen, not at the talking-head level.
