Apparently, it's from some kind of acupuncture, but it looks terrible!

"Gwyneth Paltrow caused a stir at a New York film premiere this week in a low cut top revealing a back covered in large circular bruises.

It's really effective, a kind of intensive, somewhat painful massage using big suction cups. It does leave bruises, kinda funny looking huh?

Sounds strange but it feels great and has helped a great deal with my condition.

Another person burned by quackery.

I notice that she's keeping her hair off her back; unless she really is just showing off, that and the low-cut dress might suggest that her skin is a little too raw to tolerate being touched.

Me, I'd stay away from cupping. Or at least, don't pay for it. If you really want little circles burnt into your flesh, I'm sure you could do that yourself for free. :P

didn't she wear a nice lightweight silk dress that COVERED the marks? Are actresses now required by law to show a certain amount of skin, no matter how cheneyed-up the skin in question is?
