I'm quitting my job on Monday
The job I've had for only one month.

I went into this position thinking it would be a great opportunity to work with kids and be a part of helping them get some positive, healthy foster family experiences in their young lives, but boy, was I mistaken.

The headquarters for this company is in Salt Lake City, Utah. No disrespect for Utahians (Utahites?), but the people who run this company are nuts.

There are foster parent and foster child training books that sound like they were written by Joseph Smith himself. It seems I took a step back in time to the 19th century. I haven't gone in for the past three days.

I have struggled with this for a month, and unless something changes, am quitting on the spot on Monday and taking a job that pays half what I'm making.

Thank the gods I didn't get anyone else into this hellhole (liberalhistorian - are you still out there? I had to do a complete re-install of my OS, and lost all information)

I don't know what to say other than that. I'm worried that the new job will cause me to be desperate, because half my income will go for child support and insurance, and the other half will not pay the bills.

I just don't think I can pretend to do this job while hating it. Kids, especially, are very good at picking up on things like this, and would react negatively.

Okay. Thanks for looking.

1. It's a wise thing you're doing.
Life is too short to stay in a job you hate, regardless of the money. It will destroy you.

Good luck with the other job, and especially the one AFTER that. ;)

2. People who live in Utah are called YOOTA-hanz
Spelled FWIW.

Sounds like a good decision to get out quickly. Best of luck to you finding something better.
