Did John McEnroe just say BUSH SUCKS on Conan?

I wasn't paying attention and I missed the joke it was tied to, but I think he said Bush Sucks.

5. I read he wore a Kerry button

A recently registered Democrat, McEnroe wore a John Kerry button on the lapel of his jeans jacket.

He recalled rushing home from London in 1984 to vote for Ronald Reagan, but his plane was diverted and he was unable to vote. By the time he reached the ground, television commentators were already declaring Reagan the winner, anyway.

The experience heightened McEnroe's cynicism so much he didn't vote again until 2000.

"An unregistered cynic is the phrase I would use," he said. "I've come to realize that's a copout."

6. Yes he did, and it kinda fell flat.

I expected a big round of cheers when he said that, and there was silence, and then tepid applause. McEnroe looked a little surprised, and said "I didn't realize your demographic was so Republican" or something like that. Some louder cheers now, but not much.

It was pretty weird.

We throw around talk like that here all day. But the general public is not used to that. There was more shock than laughter, but I have no doubt that the crowd was with it.
