I've spent the day dog-sitting. |
|
Since my roommate had business in NYC today, I agreed to look after Mystique, his 50-pound pit bull. It hasn't really been difficult. The main things I did were to fill up Mystique's food and water dishes, and to take her outside a couple of times so she could answer nature's call.
As usual, though, she's been an absolute glutton for my attention, particularly since I'm the only one around to give it to her. Not fifteen minutes ago, Mystique once again played lap dog, trying her damndest to get onto my lap as I sat at the computer. She was unable to do so, but managed to scratch up my exposed legs quite nicely in the process! :eyes:
Whoops! Mystique is whining again, which means another sessioh of petting and belly-rubbing, and probably also my getting licked half to death!

3. No, I don't have kids. |
|
There is, however, a strong part of me that would like them! :)

2. Since you've never had pets before |

<saw your other posts> What do you think now? I love pit bulls. I had a friend who had a female pit and she thought she was a lap dog. He would come home from work and that dog would stay in his lap all night. Unfortunatelly, she was stolen. One of my colleagues has a great dane that thinks he is a lap dog!

All of a sudden, she started freaking out on me. Not knowing what else to do, I slipped Mystique's leash on her and took her outside. Sure enough, within minutes, she was crapping her brains out! Now she's lying at my bare feet, intently sniffing and licking them.
You know, I could really get used to this! :7

6. She sounds pretty smart |
|
Letting you know when she has to go to the potty. Some dogs I have known will just sneak into the other room when you're not looking.

5. Does Mystique understand 'no' ? |
|
Would your roommate object to your picking up some little dog treats for positive reinforcement?
