I've seen someone on here ask for "help" with their homework because they were too lazy to do it themselves. To my dismay, some of you copy and pasted some crap you found on the Internet to "help" this person.

Helping some one cheat and plagiarize is just plain wrong and doesn't do anyone any favors. Of course, my posting this won't change any behaviors, I'm sure, but I hope it makes a few people think.

But "helping" is not the same thing as doing it for you, or spoon-feeding you answers. Helping means helping you to learn and understand.

I know you weren't really asking for help for yourself, but referencing a recent post, which I read but did not respond to. I'm just giving you the chance to model appropriate help.

Summer vacation or not, it's automatic. A legion of my students could have quoted my response before I made it, if they'd been reading your thread.
