But I was a kid at the time. Dad's a Trekker (or Trekkie, or whatever).

11. I was a kid too

and I went with my uncle. He's not a Trekkie (doesn't do the convention or dress-up-as-Mr.-Scottie thing), but loves star-trek tv show and movies and books and everything. So he took me to see that, and I think every other star trek movie when I was little.

It's funny how dated things look now when you see them, but looked modern when they were...well, modern. I look at the picture in the original post and I think "Gee...how late 1980's" I don't remember the 80's looking the way they look in the 00's :)
