Just got a new job-for much more money. Goodbye NH Freeptards! |
|
I have been commuting 45 minutes to an hour each way to a job that I had to take because my unemployment was running out. Senior outside sales positions that pay well are scarce these days, as companies can get junior help for 1/4 of the salary. My new job puts me back earning what I did in 2001.
I have a great boss, who is also a Dem, and I feel bad giving my notice on Monday. We work well together, and I've built a good pipeline. However, there are some serious RW dumbasses who I won't miss. They have hung up anti-Kerry crap outside their cubes, and I have responded accordingly. One guy has a list of 'lies' in "Fahrenheit 9/11", but can't substantiate any of them. Typical!
Anyway, not to insult NH DUers, but I really feel for you folks living up there. I see 'Bush Cheney' stickers all over the place in Salem and Windham. Do you think Kerry has a shot?
I am excited to start my new job (a 3-mile commute tot he other side of Cambridge). It only took me three years to get back to the salary I earned in early 2001. No thanks to Bush's 'booming economy'. :eyes:

6. Well, judging from the people I've come in contact with |
|
Bush is still popular. I really hope Kerry wins in NH, just so I can call my former colleagues and gloat.

11. All the cheapskates from Mass move up there: No income tax, BUT |
|
Edited on Sat Jul-10-04 09:08 AM by RationalRose
the property taxes are 3-4 times Mass property taxes, and it's hard to find a house for less than $300K-$350K in the towns bordering Mass. Do the math-can you imagine the mortgage payment AND a 30% property tax bill. Yikes!
Yeah, NH is a weird state. Kind of like Alabama in a progressive region. There is abject poverty in some of the counties there, but no one seems to notice.

and it's been a few years. Is she fairly intelligent? Can she understand how Bush economic policies have destroyed this country?

she is smart and she a great friend so i didn't pound her on it because i hardly ever see her since i now live in CA. She doesn't bash Kerry and she can't really say why she supports * other than..."What if we get attacked again". Which i reply..."What if". You can't live in fear, hell i live i the land of earthquakes and mudslides but i manage to get through my day. My other friend who lives in MA is hoping she'll see the light but we're no counting on it.

there are fewer *-Cheney stickers and yard signs around here than I thought I'd see. In fact, the main drag, Rt 102, that runs from my neighborhood almost in Hampstead, all the way to Nashua, is curiously devoid of them.
I occasionally see a bumpersticker at the supermarket, and there's the one guy in town in the old pickup truck with all the *-cheney junk (and several handwritten bible verses) plastered on it.
But other than that, there are less, a lot less.

17. Derry has some high property taxes |
|
one of my current co-workers has a $10,000 property tax bill for not that much of a house.
I hope NH sees the light. Especially since they have been drained of their reserves for the war in Iraq. Why does NH vote so conservatively?

15. I just hope they sweep the Rangers, and they don't go into a slump |
|
after the All-Star break as they usually do.
I was VERY surprised to see my boys beat up Zito the other night. but we're still 6 behind the Evil Empire, with Tampa Bay 5.5 behind us.

My Mariners are done and it's not even the all-star break. What a lost year for us. Are the Red Sox still looking at getting Olerud? M's probably give him up cheap.
