Kobe is about to find out how good Shaq was...
Warm weather. Smaller centers. A star guard. Pat Riley. Life in South Florida sounds mighty nice to Shaq.

A source told ESPN's David Aldridge Saturday that the Lakers center has agreed to accept a proposed trade that would send him to the Miami Heat in exchange for guard Caron Butler, forwards Lamar Odom and Brian Grant and a future draft pick.

The first Laker-Heat game will probably have a few viewers.

1. An off guard as the center piece of the deal...
Looks like the Lakers are pretty sure Kobe is out of there. (prison or another team)

2. Not a problem
Shaq can sit on his ass in South Beach, all the while whining about how his knees hurt.

And then Kobe will whine about how Rudy T doesn;t give him enough leeway even when shooting 25%.

I'm just a bitter Laker fan tired of all the stupid drama these primadonnas have.

3. I don't get why Shaq wanted to be traded in the first place.
So they didn't win it all this year. They made a pretty good showing and I'm willing to bet that they would be just as competitive with the same line up next year. What's the deal?

4. The owner made a choice between Shaq and Kobe
and maybe Shaq is a little tired of the drama as well.

Pippen never shat on Jordan like Kobe has shat on Shaq.

5. Two guys who both want to be the center of attention

and adulation and are more interested in 'me' than 'us'

When they won the championships there was enough adulation to go around to feed even their egos but when they lost it, rather embarrassingly, none wanted to share in the responsibility.

That and a long history of tensions between them which started with a Kobe broadside before the season started. Malone managed to bridge relations between the two and keep things simmering on low but the loss to the Pistons blew the lid off it.
