All you ever really needed to know about Britney Spears
http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/story_pages/news/news1.shtml

Britney was my sex-mad bride

BRITNEY SPEARS bedded her childhood sweetheart "like an animal", then wrecked his life with a 55-hour marriage that stunned the world.

Now, in a world exclusive interview, husband Jason Alexander details every moment of the sex, the proposal, their Vegas wedding and his humiliation as furious family and lawyers prised them apart.

"We made love in her bed, her shower and her bath," said Jason, 22. "She asked me to marry her but when her lawyers demanded I end our marriage she didn't stop them—and it caused chaos in my life."

Jason revealed that Britney proposed to him as she lay naked in his arms. And she was so excited when he said "Yes", she rushed him down the aisle without stopping to put her knickers on.

Edited on Sat Jul-10-04 11:35 PM by Misunderestimator
and talentless... that has always confused me. I can find a woman hot, and then when she opens her mouth and says something stupid (like "I voted for Bush") the hotness just freaking disappears. I don't get it how men can separate that.

They seem to have no morals whatsoever. Makes for some fun.

Shit, Britney's probably so dumb, I'd be surprised if she even knew the name of our current president. Too many her age tend to be that way.

Everytime... literally, EVERY time... that I have seen an attractive woman who then opens her mouth and betrays herself as a stupid idiot... she is no longer attractive AT ALL. Why is it that men can look past everything but the physical and still be attracted to an empty, albeit attractive, woman?

whether hot or attractive... when an attractive woman opens her mouth and says something stupid, the attractiveness (and hotness) disappears for me. I've just noticed that men seem to be able to separate the physical from everything else. And that's weird to me.

66. Seems to me that she factors in nonphysical aspects in determining
'hotness' whereas you maybe don't so much. I don't see that either it necessarily a better or more worthy strategy than the other -- just different -- so maybe we can just accept these differences and get along.

If you're okay with having a physical reaction to physical attrractiveness, that's just dandy in my book, if it's what turns you on (and, of course, as long as you're not being obnoxious about it or hurting others). And if someone else just as much cannot help weighing nonphysical aspects in to the physical-attraction formula, hey, great...whatever gets you through the night.

70. Well, 'hotness' is physical for YOU
And probably mostly physical for most people, sort of by definition. I know for sure that a woman's physical attactiveness in my eye can drop quite a bit as a result of any one of a number of things that she does or by the way she acts. Actually, that may even be a corallary of the fact that character traits can way enhance the beauty of a woman that I might otherwise not dislocate my neck while watching her pass. So, for me, I'm to some extent -- at least at some times -- closer to the Ms Misunderestimator model.

As for Britney, what she's said about Bush would seem (not knowing her personally) more a result of naiveté -- she does come across as a classic airhead, no doubt -- than of being some rabid neocon. Given that, in my current emotional state, yeah, I'd probably be up for the job were it to present itself. Nothing's rigid (no pun intended), certainly when it comes to me, in how I perceive people. I suspect that many of us who include nonphysical traits in rating the physical might abandon all but the purely physical under certain conditions.

Sometimes the little brain wins.

I'm not saying that I'd be among those who'd accept vacuousness in place of anything else, but I also can't predict what might happen if Ms Spears and I are trapped in an elevator for several hours where, inevitably, she'd succumb to the power of my pheromones and we'd break into the economy-sized tub of Crisco that I'd just bought for personal use and...

Exceuse me. I need to take a shower. Cold.

38. Actually,
I'm with you. Nonphysical turn-offs could easily trump physical turn-ons.

I was never as crazy about Bo Derek as perhaps, as a 13-year-old (or thereabouts), I should have been. Not that I knew she was a Republican manaic then...if she even was one then.

Still, the elevator thing's a possibility, because hormones and deep primal seething lustful urges (oops...I did it again) can make people do weird things. And things they later regret. Like getting married. :D

And it's educational. I won't deny that I have slept with women purely because I was attracted to them physically. But that was in my 20's. I haven't done that since. If I met her in the elevator, I would spend my time trying to convince her how idiotic she was. Sex would not enter into it.

of an attractive young woman.

From MerriamWebster.com:

Main Entry: chick
Pronunciation: 'chik
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English chyke, alteration of chiken
1 a : a domestic chicken; especially : one newly hatched b : the young of any bird
2 : CHILD
3 slang : a young woman

I don't see anything wrong with the bold words.

49. Actually, you COULDN'T care less
Fine point, I know, but it alters your whole thesis.

As for the 'chick' controversy, it seems to me like more than a few of the females that I've corresponded with here refer to (at times) themselves or other women as 'chicks.' Fine. I don't have particularly strong feelings about it, even when used as a descriptor by men, but it's all about context and the dynamics among communicants.

Here, certainly in general use on DU, the term's inherently sexist qualities should be borne in mind. The word's been used on occasion in fun posts here, but it's up to the users to monitor reactiona nd adjust accordingly. The word is, after all, paternalistic as applied to women -- it's a diminutive term. It's the speaker/writer basically saying "don't you worry your pretty little head, you sweet thang, you."

Yeah, I'm taking it to extremes here, but I don't think there's any denying that the word 'chick' is a loaded one. Again, used in the right place and time it can be no problem...obviously, though, using it as it's been used here the last couple of days is just not making anyone happy.

I appreciate you sticking to your point, and holding fast against what you see as unreasonable uptightness, but if I were you right about now I'd be recognizing that the only point I was making is that I'm antagonistic, at best. Here and now, the word 'chick' is not particularly welcome...more than usual, in the wake of the whole sexism bruhaha. The reasonable man would ditch it. And he wouldn't turn in a hurry to 'broad,' 'dolly-bird,' or the like, either... :D

that it isn't sexist. An author of a dictionary is obligated to provide all definitions (thank god we still have that freedom for now).

Just because merriamwebster doesn't describe the word "chick" as offensive... doesn't mean that it's not. Isn't it enough that a lot of women on this board have told you that it's offensive? 60. I tend to sympathize with your steadfastness, but
-- and I'd never automatically assume that someone who used this term was actually sexist at heart -- it's just such a touchy word, especially here and now, that you're guaranteed to start meaningless arguments by slipping it in to various threads.

You can't deny that, can you? Like I said, I'm not assuming that you;re some sexist or misogynist, but the way you're going with this stupid little word is likely to get you labeled one or the other, or as someone who's just looking for trouble. Don't care about labels? Fine. But don't be surprised when those meaningless arguments that you seek to avoid follow you and the Other C-Word on your wanders about DU.

Nobody's asking you to sell out or compromise your Self: we all need to be a little sensitive and, obviously, a significant portion of your audience is peeved at usage of that and similar words. Who knows, maybe three days from now someone could type "man, that (whoever) is a tough chick" and it'd be fine, but you'd have to be an idiot not to recognize that the word's particularly incendiary now because it's a touchstone to a deeper controversy that's revealed a lot of not-so-wonderful stuff from all 'sides' involved.

Please, just let the silly word go. It'll still be there for when the time and place are right and nobody ascribes a spurious (I hope) agenda to you. After all, if we don't stop calling htem chicks, they're gonna start calling us pigs. And they;d be right, whether we're truly sexist pigs or just being non-constructively pig-headed.

73. this is stupid
Edited on Sun Jul-11-04 02:15 AM by syrinx9999
You got mad because I said Britney Spears was pretty, and Angelus called some female person "a chick." This is your complaint?

Wake up woman!

We've got a lot of big problems to worry about. This is just silly.

(I left out of or something.)

74. This is even more pathetic than the "bitch" threads...
from a while back, isn't it?

I agree. This is the stupidest shit I've ever seen on this website thus far.

78. Wow, angelus...
...the stupidest shit you've ever seen on this website.

Well, Thanks!

Maybe you can stop for just a minute and think about what you've been doing for the past few days, throwing around this incendiary use of the word "chick" into every thread where you find the least bit of context to throw it. You KNOW it is offensive, so why do you keep doing it?

I really don't get it.

79. No I did not get mad at anything you said...
I was set off by the "hot chick" comment from Angelus... and unless you've been reading all the anti-feminist threads in the past couple of days, it might have been lost on you why I reacted as I did.

Peace

69. Yeah, nothing wrong with the word
Just the context.

That doesn't even mean you're necessarily wrong. In fact, it kind of verges on one of those who's-going-to-be-the-bigger-man situations (my use of 'man' here includes chicks womyn).

Good luck to you, my fellow astronaut. I wish you'd find another pet word for at least the next few days but, yeah, you've got to be who you've got to be, and any form of censorship (including self- ) is generally odious. I still think that you could have picked a better battle, if one needed to be picked at all. Just don't be surprised if you get savaged and accused of being things that you're not.

30. I agree. She can be 'sexy,' I guess, but I've met and certainly seen
bazillions of women who I'd consider orders of magnitude more attractive, physically (to me). And then there's the whole nonphysical side of things to consider...

If you notice he refers to his mother as "mum" and talks about how his parents and Britney's parents "rang" their hotel room. These were in direct quotes.

How many 22-year-old guys from Louisiana do you know who talk that way?

12. I guess I must be the only one that doesn't find her terribly...
attractive. When I look at her I just see the same damn dumb, dime-a-dozen, Southern blond chick type that I'm so happy that we don't have here in California.

Note: I'm a native Southerner, I can say this. No disrespect intended to intelligent Southern women. I love you, you are a rare bird indeed. There is nothing cooler than an intelligent Southerner.

17. And I guess too...
that you didn't mean any disrespect with the "chick" comment. Are you actually saying that you don't have any Southern blonde types in California? I've seen different, but I don't live there. (A native southerner here myself.)

There are plenty of smart people born in the South. Then they move. (just kidding, but I did... now I'm back in the South... someone SAVE me.)

33. Not unusual for US newspapers to Americanize foreign versions of English
or for British, etc, to return the favor. Doesn;t matter that it's in quotes: I've been quoted, directly, in newspapers and not once were the actual words mine. Just as documentaries are somewhat misnamed, so are even the most respected news outlets rightly assumed to only base their stories on strictest fact.

61. Well, since my good-natured thread has turned into a flame fest...
...Time to get back on topic.

Here's a little more from the article:

http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/story_pages/news/news1.shtml

"I wanted to make love to her and she wasn't shy in showing what she wanted. We started off in the bedroom kissing. She was good at that—she was good at everything. She was an animal in bed.

"We were both hot so I led her into the bathroom. There was a huge shower head that sent water down on to us as though it was rain. We stripped off competely and got into the shower and Britney performed (a Lewinsky) on me as the water ran down over both of us.

"Afterwards I led her back into the bedroom. At first she was on top of me and then I was on top. We did it every way you could. But it wasn't cheap. I really cared about her and it felt right.

"At times she was noisy. She didn't call me any names, she just moaned. We didn't use any precautions either."

80. Well, he was cool with the brief marriage at first
So I think he might not be telling the truth. I wouldn't put it past Britney, though, as the new guy in her life was involved with someone when Britney interfered.

As for Britney being attractive, she used to be - but now, too often she looks worn down.
