Friday, I posted this story to to latest breaking news:
Coshocton couple say they were evicted over witchcraft
http://www.zanesvilletimesrecorder.com/news/stories/20040709/localnews/807283.htmlIt had a few responses and it dropped off the first page and I stopped reading it after a couple of hours.
Later, there was a heated discussion over Witchcraft, with some people taking the position that Witchcraft isn't Wicca, and it is evil or something like that.
Now, first of all, I'm sure the folks in the article are Wiccan. The paper used the term Witchcraft because not many people around here know what Wicca is.
But then again, most Wiccans I know use the term interchangeably (myself included). Technically, Wiccan refers to the keeping of certain religious holidays, whereas Witchcraft refers to manipulating the realm of possibilities through the use of spells, etc.
But most of us country Witches use the term interchangably, and have no problem identifying ourselves as Witches.
So, how do y'all describe yourselves? Do you have a problem with the other terms? If so, why?
