Is Kinkos the only place that you can rent computer time?
I have to take my computer in for some work to be done on it and they have to send it off because of the warranty.

Kinkos is so damn expensive and there computers are on AOHELL.

Are there any other places that you can use a computer for a few weeks or a month for a cheap price?

In my area internet cafes are a lost cause and Kinko's is unknown because everyone already has their own computer so a for-pay place wouldn't be able to get enough business. However, when a natural disaster destroyed my home office, I was delighted to learn that I could get high speed internet for free at my public library. I didn't even need to show my library card, although I do have one and it's free also. I never had to wait for computer time, and it was a great deal. Supposedly public libraries all over the country were given computers as part of Microsoft's settlement or Bill Gates get out of jail plan or something I don't really understand...call your nearest branch and see what they tell you.

3. I won't have a computer for about a month
I would love to go to an internet cafe but you have to have a computer in order to go there.

It must be fun to be able to drink coffee, discuss issues with other people in the cafe and be on the internet at the same time.

I need to work on my computer and I generaly use it at night when the library isn't open.

5. how late at nite? some of our branches have late hours
Not late late but there is a branch in my smallish town with several nights of the week going until 8 PM. I think you can get 9 PM in more urban areas at some branches. My point of aggravation was more that they often didn't open early enough for me. The closest branch is a micro branch and is only open 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. yikes! but another branch not far off is much better.

I really urge you to try calling around. Or maybe the first branch you call will know who has the latest hours.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

2. The library...
Knkos uses AOHELL and Crapintosh 'computers' that lock up every 6 minutes and you pay for the time you lost... Fricking thieves.

4. The Kinkos by my house charges $20.00 an hour
They do lock up and it makes you nervous when you know how much it is costing you to use their shitty computers.

7. I have an idea...
Your local library. You can use the computer for internet access, but of course not for applications and things.... So surf the web at the library, and if you have specific work to do, then go to kinkos. I take courses at a local community college and they give free use of computers to students, which can do everything from internet access to Microsoft Office applications. If you have taken courses at a community college, consider this option...

They use to be open 24 hours and you do have a good idea but Kikos is no longer open late at night.

9. If it's gonna be a month, got to Rent-A-Center.
Going somewhere to do your work will be incredibly inconvenient. And paying by the hour will be cost prohibitive. Rent one by the month. Nothing will be more convenient or less expensive. And if it locks up, bring it back and get another. Never done it myself, but there are many rental places that rent computers nowadays.

Hope it works out.
