The guitar solo in Holiday in Cambodia is so cool... that twanging guitar sounds so erie live...
But in general I dislike live stuff. Do you like live albums?

2. The only live recording that I always think of when asked
about live recordings is a bootleg of Jimi Hendrix, and a completely drunk out of his mind Jim Morrison comes on stages and improvises a "song" with Hendrix. Actually, he wasn't really singing, just drunken raving about a...ahem..."sex act"...ahem...while Hendrix is trying to point out where the microphone is.

On the bootleg, they called this section FHITA.

5. Yes, I've heard that too

A friend of mine in high school had it. Apparenly, Jimi introduces Morrison as "Mr. Jim Morrison rolling around there on the floor," or something to that extent. Wasn't Johnny Winter & Buddy Miles also part of that jam session?

3. Live albums can be very iffy.
"Waiting for Columbus" by Little Feat is one of the best live albums I've ever heard. Coltrane's Village Vanguard albums are also excellent. "Live at Leeds" by The Who is one of their best albums. "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out" by The Rolling Stones is also very good.

And who can forget "Frampton Comes Alive" and Cheap Trick's "Live at Budokan". And the Johnny Cash live prison albums are unbeatable!

But some do really suck!

6. Definitely
But I do think the CD reissue "The Fillmore Concerts" fucked up a good thing.

7. Ever heard "It's Alive" by The Ramones?
New Years Eve 1977(I think) in London. One of my favorite Ramones albums.

8. I don't really like the DKs
Some neat guitarwork, but I never dug Jello's voice all that much. I can swing with his taste in music, though. :D

11. I do prefer studio recordings.
And for some reason, I tend to get disengaged at many concerts.
