First picture of elusive MommaCat
I should have taken some of the kittens too, but I was too fascinated watching them play and frolic.

1. Pretty Cat
Why is she elusive? Do you feed her?

2. Yes. She appeared to be on the edge of starvation when we
discovered her and her kittens living in the bushes in our backyard. We thought at first we had 3 abandoned kittens, so we fed them. Then momma cat showed up and two runt kittens too.
Momma is pretty leery of us, the alpha kittens are much bolder.

Sorry for the no background.

4. She Doesn't Look Feral
Feral cats have a gaunt look about them. This one doesn't. You've been taking good care of her!

5. I don't think she is. She is hardly more than a kitten herself
I think she was dumped this winter and has been living as she can since.
Obviously she had to hit the streets to make her way, and the kittens are the result.
I just hope she kicked the crack habit.

3. She's very pretty
I hope with time she'll become less elusive and grow to trust you. Sounds like she's making strides already!

6. UPDATE... we found mammacat and oreo on the stoop
this morning waiting for their morning feeding, both meowing madly.
Tamer and tamer.
This is fun.
They are beautiful kittens.

8. The cat equivalent of a teen aged run-away single mother
on the streets, I guess.

9. UPDATE...... Pics of 3 of the Kittens...
Edited on Wed Jul-14-04 08:18 PM by WannaJumpMyScooter
left to right they are...

Cali, Tiger, and Minny

I got to pet Cali today, before Tiger (the alpha kitten) hissed at her and she ran off.

We did think there were 2 more, now I am pretty sure that Oreo is the only other one... no pic of him yet.
