Marlon Brando - Cause of Death? |
|
Did any outlet get its hands on and report the cause of his death?
I can't help but wonder if he offed himself as the ultimate 'fuck you' to the tabloids.

7. That's what Jerry Lewis has. |
|
It's what he was taking the steroid medications for that caused him to swell up, especially around the face and neck. James Doohan (Scotty, from Star Trek) also has been treated for it over the years. I hadn't heard much about it until it came out Jerry Lewis had been suffering with it -- I wonder if they used to call it something else?

9. It seems to be diagnosed more. Not really sure what causes it. |
|
Might be smoking, 2nd hand smoke, mold, air pollution. Maybe we're just living longer and sicker so it shows up more. I am a home hospice nurse and noticed myself the increase in number of patients with it. Some never smoked and low exposure to 2nd hand smoke too.

10. Wonder if maybe air pollution aggravates it? |
|
I know Jerry Lewis smoked, don't know about Brando (probably) or Doohan (again, probably -- judging from the era).
Of course, some little voice in the back of my head is still asking how the hell Warren Zevon managed to contract a cancer that usually strikes people who got asbestosis, not the usual smoker's lung cancer.

I know there was some early speculation that he may have killed himself, since there was a gossip piece floating around a few days before his death stating that he was broke & destitute.

5. I read he had pulmonary fibrosis a progressive lung disease |
|
but they didn't say that was what killed him. It causes respiratory failure at the end.
