Would you back out on a sale?
Edited on Sun Jul-11-04 09:46 PM by testing123
I was anticipating getting another computer before this computer had to go. I know that the person has backed out on me with the computer that I was suppose to get to replace this one after it was sold.

The guy that I sold this computer to is picking it up after his shift tonight and I want to back out of the sale because I don't know if the other computer will arrive anytime soon.

Technically I need to back out on the sale but I don't do that to people and the guy is on his way to College and I promised him this computer thinking that I would have another one before this one left.

I do work on my computer late at night and Kinkos closes before I start working from my home. I will not be able to work for a while on a computer which will screw me up terribly.

I also paid the other person $150.00 towards the computer that I was suppose to receive before the College Student took this one.

What would you do?

1. That is really a tough one....
.... but really, a deal is a deal IMHO. You could try talking to the guy and see if he is receptive to the idea of delaying or cancelling the buy???

2. I have done that for the last two weeks
He is going away to College in a few days and tonight is his last night on his job.

I don't back out on deals especially to a kid on his way to College.

3. A Deal is a Deal
It's wrong to back out because of problems on your end of the deal. Don't make an enemy out of a friend. He has the law on his side, too.

4. I'm an honest person
This boy is so excited and I have been putting him off.

I can't go back on selling his this computer. I will have to be the one without a computer for a short while.

5. Get Your Deposit Back
It doesn't take any time to buy a computer. You go to the store and pick one out. Why are you going to be without one? Get your money back from the guy you left the deposit with.

6. I gave the person on the other end some money
So that I could get that computer and when It arrived I was going to let this one go but the boy is leaving to College in a few days and the guy on the other end will not respond to any messages and I am kind of getting scared.

I don't want to back out and this boy remembers this as a bad thing that happened in his life before he started College.

I am going to have to write the person off on the other end and figured that he backed out on me for a while and do without a computer.

I never lie to people and I hate when someone lies to me or stretches the damn truth.

I am very afraid of this sitation.
