I was just called a "limousine liberal"

This is hilarious. I went to the local convienence store to pick up a few things. There is a guy I know that works there that is a Dem and we were talking about F911 and other stuff. There were some guys came in the store while we were talking, I didn't pay them much mind, they just look like the rest of the baseball cap wearing, pickup truck driving crowd here in Oklahoma. I am sure they overheard the conversation and really didn't care. Anyway, we talked about stuff for a few more minutes while the other clerk checked these guys out.

I said "later" and headed out to my Lincoln. Mind you, it's a '95 model with 130,000 miles on it and I bought it used last year for a fraction of new price, but I keep it waxed and detailed and it is a slick looking ride all in all.

As these freeptards were loading up into the ratty pickup they were driving, one of them said "hey look, that's one of them limousine liberals." I stood there, trying to think of how to come back at this ass and make him look like a bigger fool than he already was. After a few seconds, I shot back " I'd rather be a limousine liberal than a trailer-trash conservative any day."

The look on his face was priceless. I wish I'd had my camera with me. Talk about "Cletus the slack-jawed yokel" , that was it.

2. Nice work!
Freeptards...LOL

I can't even imagine living in Oklahoma and being progressive. What an uphill battle you must endure day after day. It's bad enough in San Diego trust me.

How many of us are here. When I went to see F911, it was sold out wall to wall.

The deceptive thing is, the cowboy hat, baseball cap, pickup truck driving crowd here, especially in eastern OK is just as likely to be a Dem as they are a repug, so you don't know who is who sometimes until they open their mouth.

12. There is actually a good small liberal paper from Oklahoma
Called "The Observer" (I think that's the name of it)

I have a relative that lives in Ok and they send it to us.

I think that Bartcop is also based in OK isn't it?

22. Bartcop

Is from Enid, OK, I believe. If you were to ever travel to that rural farming community, it's hard to believe there is anything liberal or progerssive at all there. I like the little town though. They have a great little jazz and blues festival there each year. My band has traveled out to play it for the past two years.

15. They're thicker

Out there in western OK than they are in the eastern part of the state, where we seem to have more Dems.

18. Naw

I'd already sized them up and it wasn't anything I couldn't handle. It would have been the worst mistake they made all week for sure.

9. S'OK, they probably can't even pronounce "Kumbaya"
Trying to win 'em over would be like pig-singing lessons, an enormous waste of time and energy, and it only pisses off the pig, too.

13. I am of the persuasion that we need to take it to the enemy
instead of being on the defensive. I make it a point to smack a winger just for kicks. They hate it when they get bitchslapped. Especially for no reason other that the fact that he looked like someone who thought about voting for smirky mcchimp

20. Well

I was having a conversation that had nothing to do with them. If they would clean OxyMoron out of their heads and actually listen, they might learn something, but he took the low road and lost.

He wised of at me with a tired wingnut cliche and got his ass burned. That's what can happen when you tangle with one of the "intellectual elite" <tsk, tsk>

14. Isn't there a good chance Okies are sympathetic to Dems? After all
they welcomed the Texas dems who left the state to avoid the criminal redistricting vote

17. If any traditionally red state

were to shockingly turn blue this November, I'd bet it would be Oklahoma. I don't avtually think it will happen, but I'd put us at the top of that list.

We have suffered catastrophic job losses from the actions of our former repuke governor as well as Bushco's* economic disaster. A lot of people are very unhappy here right now.

21. Hope so

I forgot to add "in the south" to my earlier post. I don't doubt Ohio is up for grabs, probably advantage JK because of the beating y'all have taken in job losses.
