Churches Use BOOKS To Post Witty Slogans On Their Signs
<snip>

DORMONT, Pa. -- There are several books on the market assisting churches with drive-by one liners on marquees that can help draw the attention of drivers.

The guides include gems such as, "The best vitamin for a Christian is B-1 (one)," or "God answers knee-mail."

One Pittsburgh-area church member likes this one: "When down in the mouth, remember Jonah. He came out all right."

John Dorman's been changing the signs at his Methodist church for years. His personal favorite reads, "The sign guy's on vacation. Come inside for the message."

1. OHMYGOODNESS - I know a church that uses that book
because I saw the vitamin one last week. I first thought the sign was telling me to be "BI" (as in bisexual)

One I actually agree with is:

"God wants us to bear fruit, not become religious nuts"

Wish more churches lived by that little gem of wisdom.

4. I figured that out long ago. Nobody could

come up with all those corny sayings on their own.

P.S. Did you know ministers BUY sermons? I knew a Methodist minister who did this. I was pretty stunned by that (though I was a naive 20-something at the time), preaching being a major part of the job.

Last summer the Methodist Chruch nea rme posted this one
"God's Love Envelopes You Like a Warm Blanket."
Alas, they used that one during a typical Washington Summer, 90+ degrees and 90+ humidity! BAAAAADDDD Timing! The last thing I wanted to think about was a warm blanket!
