Bride makes Moran vote for Kerry -- true story!

OK, so this cracked me up.

I got dragged out by a friend the other night on her way from a wedding reception to an after-party thingy at the local watering hole... she called on the way there, saying she was coming over and I was going out with her.

Anyhoo, I get there and start mingling with folks, finally meeting the bride. Turns out she recognizes me from a Democratic meet-up a month or so ago, and immediately starts talking politics -- this on her wedding day, rapidly turning into her wedding night, she eschews dancing with her new hubby and wants to talk politics, news, whatever with me for a spell.

I oblige, fine young liberal. In the course of the conversation it comes out the new husband is a life-long Republican, and less than a week ago she gave him an ultimatum:

Promise to vote for Kerry in November, or the wedding is off.

And she was dead serious! Of course he finally agreed, and there's one more vote for the big guy.

But that's not the best part of the story, believe it or not. The new husband's family name? You can see it coming... Moran. :D

I about died laughing, but of course decided not to truthfully explain why. She wandered off to visit with other folks, and I thought to myself I gotta tell my fellow DUers about THIS one...! :bounce:

So, even though he told he would vote for Kerry how is he going to prove it? I would have just called off the wedding.
