....you don't know it's happening until it's already too late.
I've inadvertantly gotten myself addicted to ativan before. It wasn't hard to quit once I realized I was addicted and tapered off, but the first time I tried to stop, I just let them run out and went into withdrawal.
That was less than pleasant and landed me in the ER.

Yes, Xanax, ativan, and valium are essentially the same thing. Bad news as well.
