Couch Potatoes Rejoice!
Edited on Mon Jul-12-04 11:10 PM by khephra
I get angry when people dismiss any medium as being worthless.

(DISCLAIMER: no, I'm not referring to the other thread on TV that's up now. It just inspired me to do this thread. I TOTALLY understand where the anti-TV people are coming from. If I didn't "narrowcast" (viewing what I want, when I want, through recording my shows and skipping ads), then I'd hate TV too.)

So...What TV shows make it worth having TV?

Lets get it out of the way. I think most of us would say "The Daily Show."

1. Mother, lover, friend.
Cable television is the best friend I've ever had. No one loves me like cable. Mother, lover, friend. Besides, who else will be there for me at three AM? Cable, that's who!

Women die and dogs run off! Kids grow up and friends move on!

But cable will always love me. Always.

2. That reminds me of Peter Scolari on "Newhart"
He gives this big speech about how he had no friends growing up, but he could always count on Gilligan to be there when he was down. I know it sounds funny, but it was rather poignant.
