YES! Employed again after 1 year, 7 months of no work!
I nailed an interview with American Express today for an inhouse sales position. Full health benefits for part time (30 hours) work, plus tuition reimbursement.

I am SO freaking tired of being unemployed. I've taken a 25% cut in base pay from the Techie job I held until 12/02, but the commissions should put me into a brand new tax bracket.

1. Good to hear!
Jobs are too damn hard to find. All those jobs they say they're creating pay less than the ones we've lost...

2. congrats!!!
Seriously, anyone that has a job these days amazes me...
I put in 100 + resumes for a shitty summer job (I'm a college student) and got NADA.
Congrats dude!

3. Congrats!! Wish I was as fortunate.
I've been unemployed and underemployed (in crappy contract jobs that paid lousy) for a couple years now. It's to the point where I don't think I'll ever find a full time permanent position again. Living on Macaroni and Cheese just ain't any fun.

4. Great news!
Congratulations! I've been laid off four times in the past three years and the unemployment ran out last month - so I know what it's like. Good for you.

5. Congratulations!
As a veteran of being out of work for an accumulation of one year and seven months over the past three years, I don't mind the unemployment. I mind not knowing when it's going to end.

6. Thanks everyone!
To anyone looking for a job, don't give up. This was the third time I tried for this position. Persistance and patience pays off.

Good luck to all and thanks again!
