American Bullfrogs!

I bought them as tadpoles two years ago, and this year they are big enough to SING!

Now I'm a little worried -- they might get too big for my little ornamental pond . . .

But I love to take their picture, and look how pretty they pose for me!

2. I have the most fun watching them

I have three, and these guys are SERIOUS. :-)

We have all kinds of toads and frogs here, and I know my bullfrogs probably eat the little toads that are always hopping around, some of them no bigger than a quarter . . .

3. watch out!

Those suckers will eat anything. If it fits in their cavernous mouth it's fair game, including birds, turtles, mice, small snakes and bullfrogs marginally smaller than themselves!
Hope you're not out west, bullfrogs are responsible for the decline of a number of native species in Arizona and California.
