I think...

17,000 posts at 30 seconds per post= 8,500 minutes= 141 hours of actual posting. At minimim. Could be more with the deeper posts. A lot more.

Since the time spent actually typing these posts, as opposed to reading others and general computer mousing around is probably only 10-20% of the total time on DU, that means as much as 1,400 hours spent on DU. Possibly even more. Much more.

There are 8,544 hours in a year-- and 2-3000 of them are spent sleeping, and another 2-3000 of them working by many people.
