Anybody here seen Jewell in concert?
Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 01:54 PM by bif
My daughter really wants to go see her tomorrow night. I'm not real familiar with her music. Is she pretty good? How are her shows?

I think that's the last we'll hear from Jewel.

5. I can only speak my opinion...of course
I never really minded her music, but didn't have any Cd's of hers. @ years ago my buddy was touring with her and on their Cleveland date he left us some tickets at will-call.
It was a great summer night and the show was outside by the river so we decided to go.
It was really pretty good. She is more folky, but she did do a dance record I believe. You probably have heard her songs, but might not remember them. I say go and have a good time.

8. If your daughter wants to go I say go.
Jewel has inspired a lot of young women to pick up guitars and play.

I'm not a fan but you will probably enjoy the show.

9. It's an outdoor venue
The tickets are free. It's supposed to be a beatiful evening in Detroit and we can pack a picnic dinner. And both my daughters are into music and play, so if it'll be an inspiration, even better.

they picked up free tickets at 7-11. Meadowbrook is jusdt up the street from me so I'm not too worried. Jewels music is pretty mildmu neice says she's a mix of hiphop and country

12. What's with all the free tickets?
Last year we got a ton of free tickets to Pine Knob. We had to pay a parking surcharge of $5 a ticket. Is attendence way down?

13. I think concert attendance has been
on a steady decline. Plus they sometimes try to get you to upgrade. If you're going to meadowbrook tomorrow night and you're sitting on the lawn, there are some nice trees to the right of the stage that will provide some shade and keep you cool.. It's gonna be a scorcher.

14. I thought it was going to rain tonight and cool off tomorrow.
It's still a nice place to see a concert. Beats the pants off of Pine Knob.

17. We'll probably experience all three weather trends tomorrow
I've lived here all my life and never plan according to the weather report. Never go out with out your umbrella, sunblock or snowshovel.

15. go, by all means
I saw her at college right after she won a bunch of grammys in 1997, probably the last concert she played at a rural college gym for under 5,000. not a bad show, and certainly not offensive.

16. She's good for your daughter
I'm not a fan but her music certainly has more substance than the brainless bimbo singers like Britney and Christy and she's not some foul mouthed offensive rapper so she'll be quite safe there.

18. I saw her this past spring
her show is nothing like her CD's> Its just her, a mike and acoustic guitar, thats it

She does some bio tales that are funny and she comes out afterwards and does a Q&A with the audience, which i liked
