What would we do without HEyHEY?! It would be boring discussing politics all the time. He posts in the appropriate forum.

15. You can't be politically "on" all the time, you're head will explode
Hence the Lounge. I figure, as long as we're all like-minded folk, it doesn't matter where we congregate.

Unless one is in violation of the rules, anything goes in the Lounge. If you don't like it, go to the political forums. DU has plenty of them!

3. Because you can work your balls off for years at the same job...
...only to have the rug pulled out from under you with barely a notice, as happened to me recently.

Fucking employers. Is there one that's worth a pisshole in a snowbank?:nuke:

11. That's a college station; I'm a volunteer D.J.
The job I'm talking about was a $10.50-an-hour delivery-driving gig at a drugstore in East Hartford, CT. I was there for almost five years when the owner decided to sell out to a conglomerate, which doesn't make deliveries. So I got laid off quicker than you could say "shit outta luck."

Douche bags.

13. I was pretty good, I think.
Everyone in my firm had full health insurance and no deductions...lots of time off...and when we decided to close we gave everyone 5 months notice. At the end, all our employees were gone to other jobs and we were manning the phones. I am proud of what I did and I got back what I gave.

6. Don't be guilt ridden about it! Enjoy!
I have been retired from my law practice for a year and three months now. I still feel guilty when I'm not doing much of anything. Sometimes I just sit on the porch and watch the lake and the birds. For awhile, I thought learning to paint was frivolous. I am learning that being lazy is good for the soul and the body and that we get in the habit of thinking that racing around is constructive and productive...it isn't. Be lazy and love it! :hi:

23. Attractive to whom?
I enjoy being lazy. I value my work, I take good care of it and save it. Occasionally I take it down and dust it off.

Women, however, do not find laziness in a man attractive (or vice-versa).

Clarification, please.

27. I have no idea
Being intellectually lazy is probably the worst of all; you don't have to share the passion of biology/chemistry/cosmology/astrophysics as I do, but at LEAST be able to hold an intelligent conversation about modern and historical events.
Plot lines to "Survivor" doesn't count.
Man, I sound like an elitist liberal, eh?
