10. Marion IL

Seat of one of the Federal Circuit Courts. I had an ice cream while looking as somebody's house who is a real big fan of Gone with the Wind They built a scale replica of Scarlett O'Hara's Mansion. But it sits on a bald hill in the middle of super flat Illinois. (No its not the mansion in Galena IL where some interiors of the movie were shot in)

As a bonus, I also had a freezie-pop at the Old Slave House, then went on a tour. That is a strange and creepy place. The history alone is disturbing enough (when I was there in '92, before it closed, the caretaker told me that they still find skulls from time to time.)
