Poll question: I need to ask a very serious question
about toilet discs that color the water.

They make them in blue.

That's great for people who co-ordinate with blue towels, blue shower curtain, blue lighting, et cetera.

But what if I wanted red? Or purple? Or green?

Which color would you prefer if you had a choice?

14. Not sure if they still do it, but last time I was in Nassau, Bahamas
the toilets used non-potable water, which does not have to go through the same extensive desalinization and purification that drinking water does. In order to distinguish this water supply from clean drinking water, they put a colorant into it.
It was kinda' cool...one day blue, one day pink, etc.
A cheap thrill in the morning :)

17. Just let the toilet set
and you can get the water to turn green, it is cheaper.

2. Blue for me
It's my favorite color but I agree that I would love to see those things come in other colors.

6. Not sure that red would be such a good idea
looks too much like blood...and yellow, no for obvious reasons especially for the obsessive compulsive types. They would just keep flushing and flushing, we'd waste a lot of water that way

Thank god for DU so we can tackle those hard hitting issues

Stick 'em in your water tank and watch the fun happen!*

15. a friend of mine had a great story about toilet
colors. Seems he was at a private party and went to the bathroom where there was the typical blue colored water. He searched in the kitchen and found some red food coloring. He then took the blue thing out of the tank and flushed the toilet until the water was clear again and then dumped in the food coloring and mixed it until the water in the tank, but not the bowl, was bright red. The next person to use the bathroom happened to be the hostess. When she flushed, she screamed at the top of her lungs!

18. I kind of like the colors, but . . .
my dog drinks from the toilet sometimes (although I try to stop him), and when I was a kid we used the blue stuff and it made the dog sick.

Just a warning . . . food coloring could be fun, though

19. You probably wouldn't like the new blue discs with teflon...
they keep things from clinging to and discoloring the surface... :-)
