32. That doesn't mean he's "supporting Bush" alot of people who were probably
apolitical would just be honored to attend and perform at a presidential inaguration. Just because they accepted 4 years ago does not mean that they support Bush.

46. Precisely
Lee Atwater organized a kick-ass R&B revue style ensemble for GHWB's inauguration and most of the musicians were the old soul and blues greats.

I don't figure any of them voted for Bush in either election but they didn't have a problem accepting the invite to perform.

3. A partial, tentative list, off the top of my head
I think Bruce Willis is a maybe. The last I heard, he was a staunch, pro-labor Democrat, though he did not like Bill Clinton.

Kelsey Grammar
Patricia Heaton
James Woods
Dennis Miller
Victoria Jackson
Drew Carey (maybe)
Arnold Schwartzenegger
Amy Grant
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
Toby Keith (maybe -- he's moderated a lot since the Dixie Chicks episode)
Bo Derek (maybe -- pro-gun but otherwise liberal)
Shannen Doherty
Christine Chenoweth
George Ratzinger (from Cheers)
Mike Ditka (taking Jack Ryan's place in his senatorial race)
Michael Moriarity
Pat Sajak

As far as I know, none of them are very strongly ideologically conservative, except for Doherty, Moriarity, Sajak and Ditka; and even Moriarity is a newbie.

Oh, and Dennis Miller, too. This year, anyway.

13. Yep. I remember Woods' "encounter"
but the one that shocks me is Moriarty.

I absolutely had him pegged as a somewhat flaky Dem. In fact, there were a lot of strange stories about him when he was on that first year of Law & Order - very odd dude. Too odd, I would have thought, for the neo-cons.

Oh well... just shows to go ya.

Same with an older wrestler, Ultimate Warrior. The guy is certifiably insane.

Most of the WWE wrestlers (yes, including The Rock - who supported Schwarzenegger because he's a friend) do not outright show their politics off camera. But they do appear at partisan events for PR purposes and their voting drive.

49. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
In a short interview a few years ago he said he was a Republican but that he had a lot of liberal beliefs. I got the impression that he's an intelligent guy but he hasn't spent too much time reading politics.

Most non-African-American athletes I'm aware of are right-wing, mainly because they buy into the tough-guy swagger and the "personal responsibility" bloviating of the Rectal Right. Get them on to the more basic issues and they veer to the left. In general, they are as political as their culture allows, and tend not to be very involved at all.

Bentley College (business school in MA) had that guy give a talk to some students a while ago - students who tend to be wealthy and conservative. They thought he was totally off his rocker and was waaaay to out-there-freaky conservative for their upper-class white souls.

40. The Ultimate Warrior
Beginning of his enlightened response to F911

Hello warriors.

Happy July 4th, our country’s celebrated Independence Day. Two Hundred and Twenty Eight years ago Time stood at a crossroads. It turned and looked people in the face, asking them if they were ready to live up to their potential. They said yes. Our Republic was created. All these years out from that Founding, our Republic is broken and in need of repair. The most important thing you can do around this time is at least read the Declaration of Independence. When you are finished ask yourself if you will be one who further injures its cause or one who works to repair it and keep it alive.

Fanatical times demand stalwart measures. Push comes to shove, you are always better off throwing a punch. Intellectually or literally. And don’t stop throwing it until it reaches its full end. Punch through the target, not to the target. Political correctness being unwelcome here, let me here at the start shove that illegitimate to the ditch. There, that’s better.

Michael Moore and “Fahrenheit 9/11.”

I didn’t see it. I won’t. I don’t have to to smell all I need to know about Moore and his polluted, subversive goals. And I don’t understand how those calling themselves real conservatives can patronize the film and put pelf in Moore’s pocket to further finance goals they claim to despise. Just what is it that good people do not understand? The greatest power you have to effect change in the World about those things you do not approve, is to first take control of how you think and act; consider what you yourself choose to do. In this case, what you choose to buy, spend your money on -- i.e., support and condone. Go ahead, you go to the movie...

Read what others have to say about the crowds, the kind of people that were there to see it. Read about the putrid, heinous, immature, anti-American behavior of those people. You down with that? You ok with that kind of behavior coming right in your front room? You better be, because if you are subsidizing its meal ticket you're helping to breed and multiply it. You ever see a piece of dog poop on the ground not absolutely covered in flies? Reminds me of liberals. Lefty liberals flock to turdish behaviors and happenings to keep from having to smell the stench of their shitty selves. Like flies on the piece of poop, all those noses stuck in it, they can lie amongst themselves and say it is rose petals in Barbra Streisand's toilet bowl. What is it conservatives (who say they are paying attention) didn’t know about Moore and his ways before they went? What more did they learn by going?
