Ok, "I have 10 shrimp" or "I have 10 shrimps."?

1. Um...I have 10 shrimp?

Ok. "I have ten moose" or "I have 10 meese"?

2. I'm not sure if thats correct.

I was reading Michael Crichton's "Sphere" and he kept spelling it "shrimps".

3. 10 Shrimp

It just doesn't seem to make sense to pluralize the noun when you are indicating the plural numerically as a group.
Although I just thought that "Ill have 10 baseball" doesn't sound right- "I'll have 10 baseballs" sounds better...

4. What if Shrimp is used as a put-down

Take a gathering of Gary Coleman sized-people you need to get from A to B.

When you called up the bus service, would you not say "I have 10 shrimps" ? Perhaps Crichton was on about something other than the marine life.
