Does anyone else hate Ken Jennings?
The contestant on Jeopardy who is winning one million dollars and has been on the show for about a month now? He just starts frantically pressing the button before the question is even asked! Don't they cap these people? It's so unfair to the other contestants!x(

1. Tell me about it!
I'm sick to death of this guy. He's become so arrogant, as well. There seems to be nobody who can even put up a good game against him. The way he's going, he'll be there for months to come! Don't get me wrong, I don't begrudge him winning, it is just that this is getting so boring. Absolutely no one they put up against him has a chance. At least not so far.

BTW...he said it's all in how you use that button. He presses it because he has confidence he knows all the answers. He seems unusually surprised whenever he gets one wrong. Just how does one person have so much knowledge, anyway????

3. This guy obviously has no life
or he is an engineered super-human sent from the future to foil some eveil plot that has to do with Jeopardy!
BTW: I miss Alex's big dorky glasses, those were sweet :headbang:

4. He is probably very intelligent and well read in a large variety of topics
that is generally how someone knows so much, annoying as that may be.

2. I like him.
I love the way he tweaked Alex by not trying to break the one-day record (until yesterday, that is). He has a wealth of general knowledge and is blessed with a fantastic memory.

As far as pressing the button, there is a lockout mechanism if they try to beep in too quickly. He just has the advantage of having the rhythm down, thanks to being there for 30 games.

6. But the show is so boring now!
There's no competition, it's just Ken trying to beat his own record and the two other contestant (poor souls) would have a chance if it was a normal game and not a Ken-Jen-free-for-all.

5. No I don't hate Ken
It's just a game show. It's not a job; people are there voluntarily.

Alex mentioned yesterday (?) that Ken is the 2nd million dollar winner. I wonder who the first was and how they did it?

16. What's your favorite Depp film?
I find it hard to choose, but I would have to say 'Benny and Joon' with ' What's eating Gilbert Grape?' and 'Secret Window' as close seconds.

10. Jeopardy held a million dollar Master's Tournament
earlier this year, I believe. Don't recall the winner though.

9. I missed it last night because of a damn thunderstorm...
so I didn't see him pass the million dollar mark. But I really like Ken Jennings. He could keep winning for another month and I'd still like him. Watching him become better and better at the game has been really cool, even if it is a bit unfair to the other players. And he seems like a really generous guy with plans to donate a good chunk of his winnings to charity and his church.

He's made watching Jeopardy a lot more interesting, so I don't see what the problem is, unless you're going up against him.

11. I find him quite annoying
I've only seen him on the show a couple times, but I hate how he answers some questions in weird accents.

12. Another anti-trivia-intellectual thread, I see.
How many times in history must we go down this road?

;)

14. How can you hate a guy that looks like
Hermey, the misfit elf/ dentist wanna be, from 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer'?

Oh, the humanity! :P

15. He writes academic quiz questions part time, so he's definitely good
at lots of trivia, plus he has great recall.

This is a typical response, tho, to celebrity culturre. First you root for someone, then you tear them down, then you root for them on the way back up again.

He's come close to being challenged by some fast fingered persons. He will eventually lose.

Right now he is the 2nd highest winner, if you count that tourney of champions guy.

Good for him!

The Mormon church will take their big bite of his prize, uncle sam will take a bigger bite, and he'll have some left for himself.
