The ornery movie director and Knicks fanatic nurses a paranoid fantasy about the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing circuit.

NASCAR actually donates a good bit of money to Jesse Jackson's organizations and takes a lot of shit from its fans over that.

They used to have a black driver a while back. I think the only one out there now is trying to make it in the Busch Series.

No, you're right, I haven't had the experience that you have, but racism is alive and well here in LoCal. Try living in a border town and deny that it isn't.

Fuck NASCAR is not at all unlike the same attitude that coined the phrase "niggerball". I've watched and enjoyed racing since the time I was 5, and take issue when people get abusive towards race fans, which occurs a LOT on this supposedly progressive board.
