What to do with those Cremation Ashes? |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-14-04 04:20 PM by Chicago Democrat
Give them to your favorite Art Potter and have them made into a GLAZE. THen, MAKE POTTERY OBJECTS OUT OF YOUR LOVED ONE!!
That way everyone can have a piece of him! I'm doing it, I'll let you know how it looks later.
Were having serving dishes made out of him, his ashes go into the slip and the Various glazes, it forms glass and the Ashes create color.

I was looking for headstones and headstone art. I thought it sounded like a pretty neat idea.

2. Not a single contemporary is buried in a cemetary anymore |
|
Only older people. Of the many friends who died in their 30's and 40 s all of them were cremated. One has a Redwood Tree with his name on it in a memorial park, but that's the closest.
Kindof a drag how people just disappear..

6. The drag is really getting me down today. |
|
We just lost two of my hubby's brothers - on in May and one in June. Then, this very supreme lady who ran a small diner near our home died yesterday. She was precious. One night, when we went up to eat, she sat at a table with my hubby for a half an hour talking to him about losing his brothers.
We went up at lunch today to see her hubby. He was much younger than her. He was just devastated. It was heartbreaking. I wish I could do something for him.

3. I buried my late husband's ashes and I am glad I did |
|
It was a pretty cool circle of trees. He was never a nature-type, so short of burying his ashes at CBGB's or underneath the Crocodile Cafe in Seattle, this was my best option.
I really, really didn't want his ashes in my house at all - that would creep me out, for some reason.

5. That's interesting. My brother and I still have our Mom's ashes, |
|
and we really don't know what to do with them. Keeping them seems weird -- that's what I am doing now. We thought about scattering them at sea, having them put into an artificial reef in Florida, etc., but we haven't decided. Any more ideas out there?

11. My sibs and I still have our Mom's ashes, too |
|
We're planning a private family memorial this summer, during which we'll bury the urn in my sis's back yard. We have already planted a dogwood tree at the site, and will plant some more perennials that she loved. It will be "Mom's spot."

to make diamonds. You get about 50 from the average person.
I like scattering myself. You can do it from a boat or a small plane.

I know a potter and this is what is actually going to happen to her ashes.
She has it in her will, to have her ashes mixed into a glaze at the art school here so that he students can have a piece of her on their dishes and mugs.
I think it's a great idea!

17. I have my mothers ashes in a jar that sits on top of a bookshelf... |
|
It is the ugliest (and yet coolest) jar you have ever seen. She told me that when I found what I thought was the most beautiful place I had ever seen that I should scatter her there.
I haven't been anywhere really pretty yet, so those ashes just sit in the ugly jar on top of a bookshelf. unless you knew what was in there, you'd never know what was in there.

19. OK, here is a TRUE STORY! |
|
I friend of mine lost her mother. She loved to spend summers in Michigan at a lake with the children and grandchildren. My friend decided to mix glitter with her Mom's ashes and sprinkle them in the woods near the lake so that the grandkids would always know where grandma was. Really.
