Got stiffed by a freeper today! |
|
I'm a waitress at a popular local restaurant that is kind of on the upscale side. This guy comes in and sits in my section. He struck me as kind of odd from the get go because of his mannerisms and speech. He was also wearing a little American flag lapel pin. Anyway, he ate his lunch and appeared to enjoy it, had no complaints and left, without giving me a tip! Only a freeper could go to a nice place to eat and not leave a tip for a hard working server making only $2.13 an hour!

1. Progressives on a first date tip the best |
|
I used to be a waiter. Maybe they were trying to impress the date--but they did tip the best.

If you aren't prepared to leave a tip of at least 15%, don't eat out.

My dad was a waiter when I was younger I always try to tip fair because of my own personal background. What a jerk too.

4. He didn't leave anything! |
|
His bill wasn't that much, but when you go to a place and have a person wait on you, you're expected to leave a tip.

8. I always tip as much as I can |
|
because I know the people in that restaurant are working their asses off probably ten times worse than I am. They have to put up with the occasional shitbag - thank the gods they aren't everyone - but the shitbag has a tendency to screw up the whole day = anyone in retail knows this.
heres to the waiters and waitresses - working their asses off to give us - the diners - a little bit of good times.

6. I always try to leave at least 20%, but |

I'll tell you that I think it is an outrage that a restaurant on "the upscale side" should pay their wait staff so poorly. While the overhead may suck a lot more dollars than a fast food joint, it can't be that much more when you consider that fast food restaurants have an average starting wage of $6.00 plus an hour.
I resent paying $12.00 to $15.00 for an entree, when the waiter/waitress is only making $2.13 an hour... I think it would be quite possible to pay the employees a bit more (at least $4.00 or $5.00 per hour) without having to significantly raise prices. Maybe the net profit would be a bit slimmer, but it would be a more honest profit.

However, lots of places only pay that much, even the fancier ones.
