What makes you feel old??
I am a very young 38. Last semester, in my music class, I sat in front of two girls that were always talking during class. Sometimes I listened in for the fun of it. One day one of them said "My mom's birthday is tomorrow. She will be old, 38..." I almost slid out of my chair.

And the other day, in my management class, we were divided into groups and had to register for a simulation on the internet. I was the only one with a credit card. The other two had to call home for the credit card info. Oh my...

5. Hey what makes me feel old is knowing on the 26 of July I will
turn 50, folks that is 1/2 of a century old. My husband and kids (and grandkids) aren't going to let me forget how old I'll be. CAN I COME AND HIDE AT SOMEONE'S HOUSE ON THE 26? (I know I'm in for a hard time on that day)haha

and you'll feel young again! My heart still feels young; but my body tells me otherwise. I'm 13 years your senior.

2. I'm 38 myself and have been involved with a college radio station since...
...1992. During the last few years, the station's student DJs have been making me feel old. Not only do they look barely old enough to go to the bathroom by themselves, but I can't relate to their clothes, their slang, their hairstyles, the TV and film stars they like, or a lot of the music they're into!

God, were the '80s really that long ago?

6. I was in a music store and two young teenaged girls said, "I head that
Paul McCartney was in another group before Wings."

I almost died. Laughing.

7. I've never felt old...
...but I have become increasingly aware of how unadvanced some of the people around me are. Sucks to be them, I guess.

Happy 29th to me tomorrow!

8. One of 2 things
either realizing that the hot young women I look at are old enough to be my daughters or that I check out the mother before the adult daughter.

I don't feel "old".

9. Every Day
I teach college, and every year I feel older and older. When I first started, I listened to pretty much the same music, knew the same pop icons as my students.

Then came a period when I had no idea what they were talking about.

Now, I recognize what they're talking about--because I hear my daughters talking about the same music, movies, pop stars.

On the 27th, I'll get another reminder: oldest daughter turns 18. I'll officially be the parent of an ADULT! How the heck did that happen????

(On the plus side, another voter for Kerry!)

10. My knees...
They've both been blown out (kayaking and boating accidents), and they pop and creak. But the thing that REALLY makes me feel the years is the Kent State anniversary every year. It was 34 years ago !!!!!! GODDAM. I'm 53. Seems like yestiddy.

20. I know what you mean, HT!
When I see a pair of 20-year-old kissing and cuddling and getting all goo-gooeyed, and here I am at 38, with nobody in my life for longer than I care to remember. God, how depressing!

I was at work and the radio kept playing all these songs I loved, reminding me of high school and right after. I asked someone (younger) what station it was and she told me the oldies station. :(

23. I'm 38 also.
My kids like to dance to stuff that was popular when I was in high school/college: Talking Heads, Billy Idol, etc. It's strange when your cutting edge becomes your kids' oldies.
