I don't care what anyone says...Kobe Bryant is a ball hog. Most NBA players who take the majority of the team's shots are gonna get alot of points per game. Shaq, on the other hand, is a badass. He doesn't try and shot...he scores. Without Shaq...lakers are not gonna make it.

2. I'm a hardcore Kings fan |

and I've always thought that the dreaded Lakers would be toast without Shaq. Despise him as we do, he is an awesome center. Thank goodness we'll only have to deal with him twice a year now!

couldn't win a Championship prior to Kobe. Kobe is younger, and has a brighter future. It will be great watching Kobe lead the Lakers thru the season without the Whiner!

5. Shaq is indeed dominant |
|
He's just so big and strong that of course he's going to make a lot of shots since he's right under the basket all the time.
Double, triple team him and he still makes them.
However, I feel Kobe is all-around better whether he's a ball hog or not.
I posted this here before and I'll say it again:
Kobe had the potential I feel to be better than Jordan. Now with all this sex scandal, it may hinder him in the future (yeah, jail can do that too you) but I'm talking about how good Kobe was at such a young age and he has progressed greatly.

8. "The Lakers didn't shoot themselves in the foot" |
|
"They shot themselves in both feet, both arms, and in the head! " - I read that somewhere today
Looks like the end of Lakers dynasty. They deserve Kobe.

Although I do feel that the way Shaq's game has been officiated in the last 5-6 years is a disgrace (sorry not a huge fan of offensive fouls and 3 second violations on every possession). However that being said, in the current league environment it doesn't get any more dominant than the big Aristotle. Kobe is a good player and very clutch but I'm afraid he is gonna have a rude awakening next year without the big fella to draw double teams and defensive focus. Basically Detroit gave us a preview in the finals by playing Shaq straight up and we all saw what happened to Kobe's game during that series. Granted, it won't be that bad all next season but it will be similar. I guess Buss went with youth in the long run but it will hurt them in the next 3-4 years till they put together another team around Kobe. As a Bullets fan I have not had a team to root for in quite a while and I had concentrated on "Hatin" the Lakers, looks like I'll be out of luck next year unless the Bullets put it together.
