How Many Cats?
My husband teased me the other day for having turned into one of those "cat ladies." We have four. But heck, I know I can't be alone on this. Cats are fantastic! I was a staunch dog person. I always thought dogs were sweet and loving and faithful (which they are) and cats were unfeeling, unloving, selfish and untrainable (which they aren't). They don't sleep all day or hide away. I absolutely love my babies! So I may be a crazy cat lady...I'm not at the broom waving stage yet.

How many cats do you DU'ers have?

1. If all three of us weren't allergic to them
we'd have about 19. As it is we have one and when she has passed away we will not be replacing her (again, the allergies).

Sigh.

I love the kitties.

2. two
They ignore me. One of them pisses on my clothes.

They're pretty so I keep them.

The curse of cats.

3. There are three
that let us live in their house. If they ever learn how to open latched cabinets, though, we're outta here.

7. LOL
My cats are so different. Stitch loves food, so she's pleasantly plump, but on a cat it just makes her more cuddly. She likes to chew my fingers. She and her sister proved to me that cats can and will eat donuts. Lilo is my orange tabby, Stitchie's sister. She's BIG, but not fat, but has these huge eyes that freak me out because they show the whites, like people eyes. Koda is my black and white handsome boy, who likes to knead my arm until I pay attention to him, and Kenai is his brother who has a short tail that, combined with his brown stripes, makes him look like a raccoon.

8. Just one
Since her monthly rent is $40 (payable to my landlord), she keeps asking if we can get a boarder to help her pay her share of the rent. So maybe I'll have two cats at some point...

I don't know why she has so much trouble coming up with a measly $40 each month. For cryin' out loud...

I love their names too. I'm absolutely horrible with names, I shouldn't be given the privilage.

10. We have three cats..their favorite expression is "n o owww, n o owww!!!"
There is at least one or more of them complaining about something at all times. That's okay, though. We love them and love working for them.

12. The people in my daughter's neighborhood
refer to her as Catwoman. She had 5 indoors, feeds 3 passersby, one of which has now brought her kittens to be fed and last night came in with one which had been abandoned. She has a very nice husband though. He just shakes his head when she comes in with another. I don't know how much she spends on cat food, but they get the best. I can't complain because I raised her to be that way.

15. Oh, can you you encourage her to trap the strays and help her
take them to the vet to be spayed (or neutered)? I think there are vets who will do this for very little money if they know the situation.

17. She has done that before. The 3 "passersby" have eluded her so far.
She leaves food out for them but when she appears they run. She will not give up. She says she will catch them. A possum comes by every night and eats the leftovers. There is a retired vet in town who keeps cats in cages. The whole place is a mess with fleas everywhere and stale food and no water. She told Animal Control about him. He is weird. He wanted to know who told on him, but they wouldn't give her name. Julie, my daughter, thinks he has mental problems. Of course she was more concerned about the cats. AC thanked her for telling them and they will do something about the situation. The ones living in her home have been neutered. But everyone was a rescued cat.

13. I have four too
Here's where I get worried about myself:

1) It's not just the four cats;

2) I also live in a house filled with books; and

3) I'm a widow

Each day I try to restrain myself from wearing support hose and chasing the neighborhood kids off my front lawn with a broom.

20. Do you wear a red hat with purple gloves?
And do you spend the butter money on good whiskey?

If so you totally rock.

We have four meezers

Clockwise from top: Mini Moo - Female Torti Point, shelter rescue; Honky Cat - Female Seal Point Balinese; Benny Balls - Male Seal Point, Honky's younger brother.

That picture was taken, we have rescued Chunky Bear, a seal point traditional applehead.

My wife calls me the "Catmaster", but the cats really control the household.
