Let's have a contest!!! Who's the BIGGEST liberal?????
I'm proud to be a liberal, so I think we oughta have a contest and see just how liberal we all really are. You think you're liberal? Do you support the death penalty? Do you drink only Fair Trade coffee?

The most WAY out there liberal wins a jar of English Toffee Capuccino Mix from yours truly.

How do we do this? A quiz? List your liberal positions? Who will be the judge/jury?

25. Watch the original 1954 Japanese "Gojira" movie
Behind all the cheesy monster movie cliches is a very moving story about the horrors of modern war. Keep in mind that in 1954 anyone over the age of 14 would have remembered WWII well. The scenes in Gojira where people are going into emergency shelters were all too real given this.

and congrats on the Fair Trade thing.

I had to petition my local grocery store to get in Fair Trade coffee and they STILL don't have it in DECAF!!! GRRRRR!!!!

Sheckin freshin meshin poopy Albertsons.

Edited to add that link you gave me is the brand my Albertsons now carries, but not in decaf like I drink. Medical reasons I avoid caffeine as much as possible. Ah well. And they won't stock Fair Trade hot chocolate. I'm working on that and getting more organic products on the shelves.

Were any animals harmed in the production of your jar of English Toffee Capuccino Mix?

Is there sufficient gender and racial diversity at the plant that makes the jar of English Toffee Capuccino Mix?

Has that plant harmed the environment?

Is the plant a good citizen to the general community?

All these questions must be answered and more before I even think of accepting in any way your jar of English Toffee Capuccino Mix.

20. Ding ding ding
as of this post by MikeG we have a winner.

Good questions. I am a bad liberal, as I don't know in the case of that jar. Does it count that I only buy Free Trade, organic coffee and only all organic produce and dairy products? That I support small farmers by buying at local farmers markets?

:spank:

Going to give myself ten lashes with a wet noodle now.

23. I favor financial incentives to keep family size to two children;
Confiscatory (more than 120%) income taxes on the hyper-wealthy;
Armed patrols to prevent logging in the national forests and cattle grazing on federal property;
Guaranteed health care, housing, and employment for all citizens;
Legalization and taxation of marijuana;
No death penalty;
Taxation of every cent of income of religious organizations except for donations actually given in the house of worship during services;
Ditto for all property owned by religious organizations;
$5.00 per gallon tax on gasoline to fund railroads and public transportation;
$25.00 tax on each airline ticket to fund railroads and public transportation;
And so forth.
How liberal is that?

24. I don't call myself liberal....I'm radical
I don't own a car and have not since 1990...I get around by bike, feet or public transit.

I do not support NAFTA/GATT/CAFTA/FTAA

I LOATH *....I mean ABSOLUTELY LOATH HIM.

I work for an HMO and believe in universal health care for all and not only for kids.

I believe the minimum wage should be at least $12 an hour. People who work should not qualify for food stamps.

I believe there should be a maximum wage tied to the minimum wage. If people want to make more then those who are paid the least should be paid more.

I will vote for Kerry but I am really voting AGAINST *. Either way it's a vote for Kerry. I preferred Dennis Kucinich.

30. Hmmm that's pretty darn good
you must live in an urban area with decent public transport to not own a car. Wish I could not own a car. Sigh.

I assume you aren't a big capitalist based on the comments in your post, LOL? Deep down inside, I'm not either. Capitalism is far from perfect.

37. Actually I live in St Louis where the public transit sucks
It was decimated by the car companies back in the late 50s and early 60s. I am often the only white person on the bus. The St Louis area is slowly waking up to the need for a good transit system.

No, I am not a capitalist. I do not believe in social darwinism that says that nothing matters as long as I get mine. I believe we all co exist on the planet and are here to help one another.

I could post for hours. Suffice it to say that I was once called a "paranoid liberal feminist" by a local RW talk radio host.

That alone should win me the coffee :evilgrin:. If I win, though, I'll donate it to someone who likes it better than I would (yes, I live outside of Seattle and don't care that much for coffee -- is this possible?,) which means I am the Biggest Liberal of All: Sharing my bounty with others!

34. Farrah was an art major at UT in the swingin' 60s.
You know she had to run around with that notorious Austin counterculture crowd. I imagine she probably even swam naked down at the famous "Hippie Hollow". She had to have picked up a few liberal vibes.

I looked her up on Newsmeat.com, and I seem to recall that all of her donations were for Dems. Don't know for sure if she's a liberal, though.

39. I vote for ikojo - the maximum wage is the best idea
in a long time although it should be further refined to cover annual income, because the rich and super rich do not actually work for wages. Even better, income taxes should vary in direct proportion with earnings. When I was a child, I remember looking at the tax tables in my father's IRS booklet. The top tax bracket in the tables was about $495,000 and the incremental tax rate was 91%. That should still be the law. It just kills me that corporate executives are continually looting publicly held stock corporations for millions and even hundreds of millions every year. That's our money! It's from our pension plans, savings, and investments. We need to put a lid on this greed.

40. If size doesn't count, then....
I protested the against Vietnam War
I protested when Ronald Regan came to town
I protested the U.S. support of the Contras in Nicaragua
I protested when George Bush Senior came town
I intentionally took a job, (teaching) that was low paying, because of my ideals.
I shop at a food CoOp, and buy only organic foods, plus I rarely eat meat.
I think the rich should be taxed, and working people should not be taxed.
I think the rich should preform community service, and even be expected to work among the workers who produce their wealth.
I believe in food stamps, and I think the welfare reform of late has put children in a very bad position. Their mothers can't afford day care, and lots of children are growing up without parents around.
I believe every living being deservess the best possible health care.
I belong to a union and support unions and even help picket when other unions had strikes. I have fond memories of walking the picket line for the Air Traffic Controllers who Reagan fired.
I've red Mao's Little Red book.....you running dog Americans. ;-)
I've read just about everything Marx and Engels wrote.
I live and teach peace.
I believe everyone should wear just what they want.
I'm a nudist.
I believe not allowing gay couples to marry is ridiculous....
Have a won yet, have I won yet..... <hee hee>
Oh yes, pink and RED are two of my favorite colors.
AND this is sure to get me the award, I truly believe that workers deserve a fair chunk of the wealth they produce, and increases in wages should start from the bottom up, just like they once did at Ben & Jerry's.
I'm a registered Democrat who votes Democrat, but my heart is with the greens.
The first time I voted, I voted for Shirley Chisholm in the presidential primary of 1972. The second time was for McGovern.
I still cry when I see a video about the death of Bobby Kennedy.
I'm outraged that in the U.S., far more children live in poverty than do not. I'm outraged that so many people, especially families with children are homeless.
