CBS fired two actors from CSI. Those bastards...
From CNN.com...

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Two stars of the CBS hit television series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" were fired for breach of contract, KCBS-TV and Variety reported Thursday.

Actors Jorja Fox and George Eads, who play investigators Sara Sidle and Nick Stokes, were fired after asking for more money to stay on the show, according to the reports.

Danica Smith, publicist for both Fox and Eads, told The Associated Press that Fox was fired Wednesday but did not have details. Smith could not confirm whether Eads was fired.

A CBS spokesman said the network had no comment.

Eads didn't show up for work Thursday, the first day of production for the next season, according to the news station and Variety, which posted a story on its Web site Thursday.

The actors were in the fifth of their seven-year contracts.

Though a search was under way for their replacements, it's unclear whether show creators will recast the characters or develop new ones, the reports said.

That really sucks. CSI is one of my favorite shows, and I liked the how those two characters played off of each other. Oh well, there's still CSI: Miami, CSI: New York, and CSI: Toledo.

1. I think they deserved to get fired.
They knew what would happen if they didn't show up for work. In the real world if we don't get what we want and then don't show up for work the next day, we get fired. They got what they deserved. Spoiled actors thinking they are more important than they really are. They are a dime a dozen.

9. I agree
They were already making more money than 99% of the people, and thought they were more important than they really are.

11. perhaps so, but they are small potatos if the star of the show
had pulled that they would have eventually met his demands. But still it is hard to feel too sorry for them since they probably were getting at least $25-30,000 per episode anyway.

17. So only the producers and other bigwigs should get all the big bucks?
Actors deserve part of the wealth that is generated from a hit T.V. series. If the program is popular, advertisers have to pay big bucks for their AD spots. The networks, the producers, etc make a lot of money off these shows. The actors deserve their cuts especially since the company that makes these shows will continue to generate lots of money with reruns. Give the actors their due. When the program is off the air, they may never be part of a money making series, movie, etc again.

2. CSI: Hays (Kansas) looks like it'll be good.
None of the big-city CSIs handle grain reaper accidents, and I'm tired of all this prejudice against flyover states! ;)

4. Maybe CBS Can Replace Them....
...with the two actors who replaced Bo and Luke Duke during a salary dispute on "The Dukes of Hazzard".....

5. Speaking of 'Jumping the Shark'...........
I loved CSI initially. I really like Peterson, who I used to be in a Football Pool with about 15 years ago.

But CSI has jumped. It's awful. CSI Miami is complete crap.

CSI, in all of it's versions, needs to go Bye-Bye.

10. When did it jump?
Remember, JTS refers to a specific moment in the show. What specific moment marked the JTS for CSI?

14. The Roller Coaster Crash Episode.
That's what did it for me.

15. Okay, this is absolutely not meant to be contentious
And I really do not mean for this to be an argument, I really do want to know your reasoning.

I'm disappointed that the "detective" part has grown past the "tech" part. Heck, CSI Miami is off my DVR schedule because it's all detective work, with a hint of CSI work thrown in.

But what about the roller coaster episode did it for you?

(Once more, this is in the interest of honest discussion amongst fans or former fans, I'm seriously curious.)

18. I can't remember too many specifics about that episode....
Except that when wifey and I watched it, and we were both fans at one time, we were able to predict almost every turn.

Thin plot, really dumb jokes containing sophomoric sexual innuendo......I think I recall one joke about "busting a nut" or something. I haven't tuned in since.

19. ok
I didn't find it one of their best, but not that bad, either.

CSI Miami lost me on one episode. The third time Horation Caine, Superdetective, dragged someone in and accused them of murder, I gave up.

6. Consider it jumped
That's too bad. I liked how the writers ever so slowly opened up the charaters' personal lives. So do you think they're going to use Sarah's drinking problem as an excuse to write her off?

7. Maybe they should have them die in a drunk driving accident?
Good way to say "Yo Mama!" to these selfish greedy bastards.

12. That's definitely a logical conclusion
That would be a cool episode, seeing the others working on them.

8. Sorry, Jorja Fox is freaking annoying.
Perhaps I can watch CSI now. I liked parts of it, but couldn't watch the show because of her.

16. I agree
I didn't like the direction her character was going.

This gives Greg the opportunity to move into the field, and gives us more of that yummie Warrick. Add in maybe one more person, a minor actor, and we're good to go.
