The most overrated Hollywood "babe" or "hunk?"

For my money, there is a two-way tie for the top, among dozens of worthy candidates: Jennifer Lopez and Julia Roberts.

I include Lopez because she's in a movie. If we were to add music to the mix (and go ahead, if you like), it'd be Christina Aguilera. I've never seen someone work so hard to reduce her own attractiveness.

"THE VOLUPTUOUS KATE HUDSON." Kate Hudson? Voluptuous? America's Cheneyed notion of body image strikes again. If memory serves, I'd describe her as more 'elfin' than voluptuous..well, certainly closer to that than to full-on voluptuous. Ironic that, in a nation with exponentially expanding waist- and bottom-lines, a not-particularly-curvaceous young woman can be the poster child for voluptuousness. Maybe all that cultural conditioning's finally so entrenched that 'voluptuous' has become a synonym for 'blonde.' :-)

Not that I'm saying, necessarily, that her babeliness is overrated: fact is, all Hollywood babes and hunks are overrated, sex-appeal wise, if their publicists are doing their jobs right.
