I was very fortunate in that I saw Dreamgirls in New York with the original cast, in '82.

While the whole cast was terrific, Jennifer was incredible. Her performance of "And I am Telling You..." just gave me chills.

The audience went nuts during her number, too. It was almost like a revival meeting.

I'd do (about) anything to have seen her live in Dreamgirls. Have your heard her version of "His Eye is on the Sparrow"? You can get it online. Floors me every time I hear it.
