Whew! Opposite cat pee problem seems to have resolved. |
|
Since taking in Mischief I have yet to see any evidence of him peeing.
I was getting ready to take him to the vet today, but he finally tinkled.
Further, I took him back to the shelter for his rabies vaccine and asked the vet there to feel to see if his bladder felt full and he's in good shape.

1. Has Mischief been introduced to the rest of the gang? |

I've trying to keep them separated until I am sure his upper respiratory thing has cleared, but Sybil darted into the room where I am keeping Mischief and they seemed to get along okay (and she's the one I am most scared of because she's my tiniest cat and will charge anything including a 100 pound dog if she feels threatened. She don't take no shit from nobody).

I've had my brown tabby, Sadie, for 14 years now and I've yet to see her pee in the box .... :-)
Your cats are gorgeous, btw!

4. Is that common with cats? |
|
I took in a cat last year - she comes inside in the evening and I let her out in the morning. She has a catbox but never pees. Sometimes she is in for 12 hours. Is this OK for a cat? ANyone know? Thanks

5. As long as she IS peeing...everything is okay, but cats can and do get... |
|
...urinary problems that can kill them in a couple of weeks (it can be an emergency situation). That's why I was getting worried.
But he's fine.
And it's common but not exactly epidemic, especially in older male neutered cats.
