HOLY GRAIL - DRIVE IN MOVIE

I live in the greatest neighborhood in the world. My neighborhood association is running a drive-in movie tonight. We are all gathering in the local park. A few guys have put up a giant screen fashioned from three old sets of drapes. They rented a projector and we are watching HOLY GRAIL tonight under the stars ALA Drive In Theatre style.
I can't wait.

And a great idea.
When we were young we lived close to a drive-in. During the day we would sneak in and turn all the speakers in the last few rows all the way up. And at night we would sit up on the hill and watch the flicks. I saw Animal house for the first time there.

one of the local theaters used to alternate it's midnight movie between Holy Grail, Heavy Metal, and Rocky Horror.

5. No making out, isn't that the point to Drive In Movies

I plan to get the wife drunk on popcorn and lemonade (the kids in teh neighborhhod are selling popcorn, lemonade and soda to raise money for the neighborhood softball team) and put the moves on right after the old man from Scene 24.

7. You know, we really got lucky

Its a dead end street in Cortlandt Manor NY. Other than Rep. Sue Kelly's son living on the block (he is a really cool guy actually, a moderate republican, but a cool guy and a great dad nonetheless), its a great neighborhood. Lots of kids playing ball in teh park dwon the block and lots of young neighbors having BBQ's, drinking beer and otherwise hanging out. Plus, they all like HOLY GRAIL.

14. We actually have

a "real" drive-in movie place here. Tonight they're showing Spiderman 2 and White Chicks. When I was a kid in Oklahoma, folks would put up this BIG white cloth on the side of one of the buildings and show old movies like "Stagecoach" (yeah, the 1939 version which maybe wasn't so "old" then).:) Have fun tonight!!
