An oxymoron no longer-There is good fast food |
|
I was in a rush today and went through an Arbys drive through. Normally I do not eat fast food but I had their chicken salad sandwich for $3.99.
It was on a very grainy whole wheat bread with apples, grapes, walnuts and white meat chicken. I would have happily paid twice that in my local cafe.
I was very pleasantly surprised.

2. I Had a "Six Dollar Burger" from Carl's Jr The Other Night |

Very good - a half pound of Angus beef.
I know they support right-wing causes, but it was hot, the wife and I were tired, netither of us felt like coolking, and there are few fast-food choices in Pueblo West that take checks. (It was the day before payday, and we were low on cash.)

roast beef anymore. The last five times I ate it I got the runs, so I wondered if it was lysteria or just a spice that is not compatable with me.
I like Subway sandwiches also. And I like Chick-Fil-A sandwiches at about 300 calories before adding a hint of mayo.
I lost fifteen pounds recently. I ate at fast food places quite a bit because my husband was out of town alot. If you are careful with portions and skip the fries, there are some good choices, but that doesn't mean it is nutritious.

4. Arby's is ridiculously awesome! |
|
For some reason I never get their roast beef. I usually get a sandwich or salad. mmmm.... but $4 ia a bit steep. That's where they make their profit.
Did you know that fast food places actually LOSE money with their dollar menu crap?

Nothing like and In and Out burger on a fresh baked bun, or Pollo Loco marinated chicked and pinto beans (not refried)

Fresh, high-quality ingredients -- even seasonal ones like blackberry milkshakes. I don't eat meat but luv them veggie burgers with all the fixings -- yum.
