7. you WILL care
once all those ads and spyware screws up your operating system.

I just installed spysweeper and ad-aware, because all those popups and adware kept screwing up my computer. It got to the point where I couldn't log off properly. And WeatherBug was the chief culprit.

Listen to these guys..................

6. the Weather Channel's monitor is MUCH better
WeatherBug is terrible. I tried the AIM version, and it consistently predicted highs nearly 20 degrees higher than actual. :wtf:

Maybe when they say "bug" they mean it literally, because it was horribly flawed.

Weather.com has a cool freebie, and no spam or pop-ups without your consent.

10. Weather underground
www.wunderground.com has much better radar and is more up to date than weather.com (under 5 mins current compared to 30.)

14. Best site I know of...
recommended to me by the weather obsessed of my acquaintance. Really good around hurricane season.

Actually, although I found WeatherPulse to be the best of the desktop stuff, I rarely run it and usually just look out the window.

13. The stand-alone Weatherbug is supposedly spyware free
Edited on Sat Jul-17-04 10:04 PM by mvd
But at one time they bundled it with the dreaded Gator spyware, and ever since then I'm not sure I can trust it. I've heard that Minibug, which seems related to Weatherbug, is minor-level spyware. And I've seen references to Minibug on my system. Also, in these times, I'm not sure I want anything connected to a government agency.

The only reasons I still have it installed are the local temperature, the updated seven day forecast, and the weather quiz.

15. Why not just use NOAA and forget about
having to endure unpleasantness?
